Canadian Certified Pedorthists are defined by the Pedorthic Association of Canada as "allied healthcare professionals trained in the assessment of lower limb anatomy and biomechanics. They specialize in the design, fit, and modification of custom-made orthotics, orthopaedic footwear, and braces. They determine a patient’s treatment through a biomechanical exam and gait analysis.

The goal of every Canadian Certified Pedorthist is to help patients achieve and maintain proper foot care and lower limb health, and live healthy, active lives. Through a sustained relationship between pedorthist and patient – and depending on the precise nature of a specific patient’s condition – pedorthic care can help prevent further pain and debilitation, and the related inconvenience and expense for patients, insurers, and the healthcare system."

Emma studied at the University of British Columbia Okanagan, where she earned her Human Kinetics degree in 2017. Emma has always had a passion for helping people and assisting them with injury prevention, injury recovery, and post-operative bracing, as well as improving athletic performance through custom knee bracing. For over 6 years, she worked at physiotherapy clinics building bracing programs. This involved working with physiotherapists, massage therapists, sports medicine doctors, physiatrists and orthopedic surgeons.

Emma has been passionate about education and this led to bracing education talks at the KGH Casting Clinic as well as at UBCO for the student athletic trainers.

With Emma’s passion for education and helping people, she looked to find new skills to better assist her patients. This is what started her path to becoming a Canadian Certified Pedorthist. Emma graduated with a Diploma in Pedorthics with distinction from Western University. Emma moved to Vancouver to complete her practicum with one of Canada’s largest pedorthic companies and has returned to bring the newest techniques and education to the Kelowna community.

Emma is passionate about getting you back on your feet and helping aid your recovery from pain and overall better movement.
